about

'The whole album is powerful and moving'
5*, The Scotsman

Stop Motion Music brings together the results of a projects involving Neil Tòmas Smith and his most treasured performer-collaborators.

Each piece that results is a unique document of a journey shared by performer and composer, each pushing the other further forwards into uncharted musical territory, whether in the unconventional techniques of Manual for 2 cellos or the troubling exploration of abuse in The Music Lesson for speaking harpist.

The title track is a piece for vibraphone and 3 flutes, which is one of Smith's most substantial compositions, here performed by renowned flautist Carla Rees and the sensational Delia Stevens on vibraphone.
